Architecture Week

Each year, one week in April is designated as Architecture Week, and during that time your AIA Chapter puts forth a special effort to raise public awareness of our built environment and its importance to the livability and functionality of our communities. This year we hope all AIA members will join in the festivities and take advantage of this opportunity to celebrate the architecture of our city and those who have created it.

In 2010, AIA Las Vegas has planned a full week of events and activities celebrating Architecture and those who design and create our communities. Officially proclaimed by the Mayor and government officials, the week includes concentrated media coverage of events and special programming on KNPR.

A Klai Juba Lecture for the Community

Recognition for Young Designers and Tomorrow’s Architects

Thursday, April 15 – Canstruction
Reception and Awards Announcement
Teams of architects, engineers and students compete to design and build giant structures made entirely from full cans of food.  Their work is on display in Centennial Plaza – All food donated to the Three Square Food Bank.
6:00PM – Centennial Plaza, 4th & Lewis, located beside Historic Fifth Street School
Open to all – No charge but a canned food item is requested
