Join AIA Las Vegas Emerging Professionals Committee and LGA as we tour the Silverado Community Center, opening soon to serve the fast-growing Silverado Ranch community in the southern Las Vegas Valley. This first-to-be-built community center in nearly a decade will feature modern amenities such as an indoor walking track, exercise and fitness room, dance and yoga, teaching kitchen, gymnasium, multipurpose classrooms, conference rooms, arts and crafts area, and break room.
Learning objectives for attendees include:
- Exploring a new state-of-the-art Las Vegas community center designed using sustainable materials and strategies to meet energy requirements
- Analyzing real-world construction techniques and details
- Evaluating site design strategies used by the architect for a green building in Nevada’s climate
- Discussing challenges faced by the team and how they were resolved
Approved for 1.5 HSW credits.
This event is complimentary for AIA members and students, and $35 for guests.
Attendees must arrive wearing long pants and closed toe shoes (preferably shoes you’re okay with getting dirty). The general contractor will provide additional necessary PPE to be worn while touring an active construction site.
